Nigerians have been urged by the country’s presidency to remain calm and not to be anxious about the health status of their President.
Muhammadu Buhari is currently working from his home after missing a cabinet meeting this week.

Mr. Buhari’s inability to work from his office at the Aso Villa in Abuja has created anxiety among many Nigerians who fear the worst for his health.
In a statement on Thursday the President’s senior special assistant on media, Malam Garba Shehu said there was no need for Nigerians to worry about the absence of President Buhari at the Federal Executive Council meeting which took place on Wednesday.
Shehu said “As eager as he [President Buhari] is to be up and about, the President’s doctors have advised on his taking things slowly, as he fully recovers from the long period of treatment in the United Kingdom some weeks ago.”
The statement said “President Buhari himself, on his return to the country, made Nigerians aware of the state of his health while he was in London. Full recovery is sometimes a slow process, requiring periods of rest and relaxation.”
“Despite his lack of visibility, Nigerians should rest assured that President Buhari has not abdicated his role as Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria,” the statement said.
The vice president Yemi Osinbajo himself has said that he is working closely with his boss to run the country.
The statement from the presidency said Mr. Buahri “receives daily briefings on the activities of government, and confers regularly with his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.”
