The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the country’s National Intelligence Agency boss Ayo Oke and ordered an investigation into the work of the agency.
This action has been taken by the Nigerian president following recent discovery of more than $43m in a flat in Lagos by anti-corruption officials.
Mr. Buhari wants investigations carried out into circumstances under which the spy chief and the agency came into possession of the money.

The BBC reported that unnamed intelligence officials told local media that the money was kept in the flat for covert operations.
Meanwhile President Buhari has also ordered an investigation into corruption allegations against David Babachir Lawal, secretary to the Nigerian government.
Mr. Lawal, a senior civil servant is accused of using funds intended for handling a humanitarian crisis in the northeast of the country. He has been suspended pending investigations into contracts awarded under the Presidential Initiative on the North East.
Nigeria’s vice president will head a three-man committee to investigate both issues and submit a report to the president within 14 days.
President Buhari has promised to fight corruption in his government and many analysts consider this one of those efforts aimed at tackling the canker in the West African nation.
