Airlines on Tuesday resumed operations at the Abuja Airport, after repair works on its runway were completed.
Officials at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria announced on Monday that an Ethiopian Airline will be the first to land at the newly renovated runway.
Authorities had earlier planned to reopen the airport to flights on Wednesday.
The facility was closed down for six weeks to allow for the repair works.
During this period flights were diverted to the Kaduna International Airport.
