The Government of Ghana is to establish an Integrated Bauxite Alumina Authority in the next three month.

The project according to Ghana’s President Akufo Addo is critical to exploiting the untapped mineral resources such as bauxite.

The Authority will have the task of mobilizing the relevant resources to better exploit alumina industry in Ghana from exploitation to the creation of alumina product.

Mr. Akufo-Addo was speaking at the Presidential Panel discussion at the just ended Africa CEO Forum in Geneva Switzerland.

He wants investors to turn their attention to the West African country for possible partnership in exploring opportunities in the mining sector as he also hinted government is close to clearing the 2.4 billon cedis energy sector debt which nearly crippled some banks in the country.

Mr. Akufo-Addo told the gathering that “Now that we trying to come to grips with the financial problems that are at the  heart of our electricity challenges in Ghana , we are able to do so to provide the stimulus for industrial transformation that we require”.

“Our country has enormous natural resources, bauxite and iron ore, we have decided that come what may, we going to bring those resources into play”, he added.
