University lecturers and academic staff in Kenya have all served notice of embarking on strike in the coming days.
They Daily Nation in Kenya reported that public university lectures and workers issued the seven day strike notice stressing on their resolve to go on strike if their demands are not met.
Officials of the two unions, the Universities Staff Academic Union (Uasu) and Kenya University Staff Union (Kusu) made their strike intentions known on Thursday following a meeting with government of Kenya.
The university lecturers and workers are demanding the implementation of the 2013-2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Their meeting with the government of Kenya on the matter on Wednesday failed to yield fruits.
Lecturers and workers of 33 public universities are expected to take part in the planned strike.
Medical practitioners in Kenya have also been agitating over the same implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
