Authorities in Cameroon say two young female suicide bombers attacked a town in Cameroon’s Far North region early on Thursday, the attack is the fourth strike near the Nigerian border by suspected Boko Haram militants this week.
Prefect of the Mayo-Sava department, Babila Akaou said one of the bombs exploded in Mora, killing one of the girls and wounding at least four people.
He said the Locals killed the second bomber before her device detonated.
“I was directed to the forces that maintain Order in the area, I told them that they should be very careful with the two women that came here, we suspected them from the junction. From there, the security people followed me we went towards them,“Yacouba Ismael, member of the Committee that alert the Army.
“The second suicide bomber fell, when people gathered we discovered she was not dead. When she moved, people shouted and then she was killed,“Fanta Aminou, a resident in the area.

The group has frequently used female bombers and children to hit targets.
According to Akaou, the two girls, aged between 13 and 18, entered the town early on market day and were spotted by a watch committee.
They were heading towards the market. They weren’t wearing shoes, which drew attention,” said a local named Abou. The girls passed by him around 7 am, he said.
