Africa has now recorded 2,810 coronavirus cases across 46 countries as rate of spread continues to increase.
So far 72 deaths have been reported with only 210 recoveries on the continent.
North Africa has the highest number of cases (1,159) as well as deaths (53) likewise number of recoveries (180).
South Africa with 709 cases has the highest number of cases as a single country on the continent.
Burkina Faso (146) and Ghana (132) now have the highest cases in West Africa.

Many African countries are now locking down their cities and restricting movements in order to reduce the rate of spread.
Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Senegal have all imposed tougher restrictions including curfews and lockdowns.
Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday also announced a 14-day ban on public transport to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The hope is that with limited movements among populations, the rate of local infections would reduce.
Kenya has also banned the importation of second-hand clothes, popularly known as “mitumba”, to limit the spread of coronarivus.
