Three Ghanaian immigrants have died from the deadly coronavirus, a respiratory disease that has brought the world to a standstill.

Of the three, two died in Italy while the remaining one died in Copenhagen, Denmark from the virus.

Ghana’s foreign affairs minister Shirley Ayorkor Botwe who announced this said one of the deceased is 69 years old.

“We are praying that Ghanaians living abroad keep the advice given by all those countries and make sure that they are safe. Don’t go out if you don’t have to unless it is absolutely necessary. Stay home”, she urged.

Ghana has so far recorded seven cases of COVID-19 with several suspected cases.

Officials said those who tested positive and in Isolation are doing well.

The country has also imposed travel bans on travelers from Covid-19 high risk countries.

Public gatherings and religious services have been banned while schools have also closed.

Globally 205,642 cases have been confirmed with 8,272 deaths, according to WorldOmeter.

A total of 82,889 have so far recovered from the virus, as many countries enforce regulations to prevent further spread.

Meanwhile Africa has now recorded at least 10 deaths across five African countries from the current outbreak of Coronavirus.

Egypt has the highest death toll with at least six deaths with the latest deaths involving a 78-year-old Italian woman and a 70-year-old Egyptian man who died in an isolation hospital.

Egypt (6), Algeria (3), Morocco (2), Burkina Faso (1) and Sudan (1) are the number of deaths so far.

At least 31 African countries now have confirmed coronavirus cases totaling 529 with new cases being reported in countries like Gambia, and Zambia.
