Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi took social media by storm after a video captured Mkansi proposing to Soldaat at a KFC joint in South Africa.

After the video went viral, South Africans quickly came in to donate to ensure that the couple were able to have a memorable wedding.

The outpour of love on social media led to people willing to support the couple have a dream wedding.

Mkansi 37, and Soldaat, 38 have already been married and their impending wedding will be the second.

They have now set December 31 as the date for their wedding, hoping to usher into the new year with joy.

The wedding day has also been confirmed by KFC on its Twitter account, with the company tweeting: “We have a wedding date, people.”

Some of the items donated for the wedding include food, outfits, entertainment and even a place for their honeymoon.

Special opportunity

In a recent interview the pair told W24 they had no idea they would get an opportunity to get the wedding of their dreams.

The couple said it “wasn’t the kind of ceremony we wanted but because of the situation we continued with it last year”.

Mkansi and Soldaat have three children aged 7, 12 and 17.  Many South Africans have been excited about the out-pour of love for the couple.
