Police in Nigeria have said that four Turkish nationals who were kidnapped in the country’s western state of Kwara have now been freed.
The four were rescued a week after being kidnapped by gunmen.
They were working on construction project in Nigeria but were taken from a bar last week.
Their abductors had demanded a $1m ransom. Police say they were freed without any money being paid.
Senior police official in Nigeria, Kayode Egbetokun told the BBC that Turkish constructors were found in a bush on Friday.
Their rescue according to Egbetoku was supported by local vigilantes police officers.
Mr. Egbetoku said the arrest of three other kidnappers “put pressure on the remaining gang members to release the Turkish hostages unconditionally.”
TRT news site reports that Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria Melih Ulueren was glad the Turkish nationals were now free.
Meanwhile 10 Turkish sailors who were abducted two weeks ago in Nigeria are yet to be rescued.
