A Nigerian doctor who got infected with Covid-19 while attending to an infected patient has died.
Health officials say he died on Wednesday after he was admitted to Lagos University Teaching Hospital on Monday.
Lagos University Teaching Hospital’s director Chris Bode told the media the doctor named as Dr Chugbo Emeka was brought to the hospital with severe symptoms.
Emeka, 51 was reported to be asthmatic, a condition that could have worsened his situation.
He was a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). The group said he got infected because he was exposed while managing a patient who died last week.
