Ghanaian health officials have confirmed that one of the country’s Coronavirus patient has died.
The country’s deputy health minister Alexander Abban told local media that the patient died in Ghana’s Ashanti region.
The patient was a 54 year old Labanese who got infected in Kumasi.
Officials are yet to confirm if indeed his death was because he got infected by Coronavirus or other complications caused it.
They would want to determine that after an autopsy. But health officials say his condition deteriorated because he had other ailments.
Many Coronavirus patients all over the world die because they have other underlining health conditions.
Such underlining ailments make it difficult for their immune system to recover from the virus.

Surge in Ghana’s Coronavirus cases
Ghana has so far recorded 21 coronavirus cases with concerns there could be more cases soon.
The country has already banned public gatherings, closed schools and restricted religious services.
Travel bans have also been imposed on visitors but the major challenge now for Ghana like other African countries is having proper infrastructure in place to fight the outbreak should things get worst.

Ghana’s Parliament on Friday evening passed a law that would give the president the power to impose certain levels of restrictions.
The Imposition of Restriction Bill 2020 which has now been passed into law is to allow the president to impose restrictions on the movement of people in the event of a disaster, emergency or similar circumstances to ensure public safety and protection.
The new law will also give the president the power to also restrict the freedom of entry into Ghana.
There are no indications a lockdown will be enforced immediately but there have been some experts calling for it to stop the spread.
Coronavirus cases in Africa have for the first time surpassed 1,000 with cases now confirmed in at least 40 countries.
The continent has now confirmed 1,114 cases as at March 21, 2020 with 28 deaths from seven countries.
There have also been 103 recovery cases in 10 Countries on the continent but there are fears the cases could increase further in the coming days.
The African Union’s Centre for Disease Control has said it “is working with all affected countries and is mobilizing laboratory, surveillance, and other response support where requested.”
