26 African countries have confirmed in total over 273 COVID19 cases with 6 deaths reported so far.

Over the weekend, Central African Republic, Eswatini, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Seychelles also announced first cases.

The World Health Organization said it is “supporting countries with surveillance, diagnostics and treatment.”

Many African countries are now restricting gatherings, travels and public activities to prevent further spread of the virus.

Rwanda has banned religious activities, shuts schools and asked employers to allow employees to work from home.

Senegal has also shut schools and canceled independence day celebratory events.

In Ghana a travel ban has been imposed on travelers from countries with over 200 coronavirus cases.

Efforts are also being made to reduce the level of panic among citizens although Africa still has relatively lower rates of infection and deaths.

Meanwhile in China where for almost two months was on lockdown is now reducing several strict quarantine rules and travel restrictions.

After fighting to contain the spread which infected over 80,000 people and killed over 3,100, life is slowly returning to normal in China.

Cases had been reported in 31 provincial-level regions on Chinese mainland but over 36,117 patients infected with the novel coronavirus had been discharged from hospitals.
