Parts of the roof of one of Ghana’s biggest shopping malls on Thursday collapsed while scores were shopping.
There are scanty details about the number of casualties. State media Daily Graphic reports that so far one person has sustained injuries.
Shoppers are said to be in a state of shock over the incident which raises questions about the safety measures at the facility.
The Accra Mall located in the capital is hugely patronized by Ghanaians. It serves as relaxation place for many aside shopping.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing to ensure that those affected are rescued and provided with the needed care.
