Police in South African have reportedly clashed with students at the Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve.
Local media IOL reports that water tankers and police vehicles have been deployed to the campus.
The police in Pretoria are accused of firing live bullets to break up students violence in the University on Thursday.
One student was quoted as saying “We will burn the police station down if we don’t get answers from the police. They killed out comrade”.
The student was referring to the firing of shots during the students violence over election results.
Police officers were trying to restore order following the scuffle over the election controversy at the school.
The students had attempted to block the police from entering the school campus but they met with force.
The University’s spokesperson Willa de Ruyter said the incident was a sad moment for the campus and the deceased family members.
Police have said there will be an investigation into the death of the student and the entire violent incident.
