The Ugandan MP, Robert Kyagulangyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine has been seen in a video smiling.
He has spent days in detention but is reported to be in a terrible condition due to the treatment meted out to him.
The Musician turned lawmaker is unable to walk and is seriously sick since his arrest, according to his lawyers.
He has been reportedly beaten up by security forces while in detention. He and several others were arrested over the charge of instigating an attack on the country’s President.
Last week Thursday Bobi Wine appeared before a military court martial over charges of instigating an attack on President Yoweri Museveni.
He was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of firearms and one count of unlawful possession of ammunition.
On Wednesday, the military leadership released a video of Bobi Wine in detention smiling after the country’s deputy parliament speaker paid him a visit.

MPs brutalized
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya reportedly visited Bobi Wine and the other MPs arrested over the incident.
Oulanya told local media that “What I have seen is that both of them are in pain. I talked with Hon. Kyagulanyi but he is in a lot of pain.
He is however in a uniquely humorous mood and we were laughing with him. Hon. Kyagulanyi have no internal injuries.”
The deputy speaking however confirmed that Bobi Wine had injuries saying “all injuries are external arising from several beatings when they were arrested. This situation should not have happened.”
President Museveni had denied the reports of brutality against those in detention. He said the reports were fake.
Violence continues to erupt across the streets of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city as demands for the release of the MPs grow.
The European Union and the United States of America have all condemned the treatment of the detained MPs.
The EU and the USA have all called for the respect of the rights of those arrested.
A coalition of civil society organisations has also called on security officers accused of torturing suspects to be put on trial.
