Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday returned home from his holiday in London.

His return without much delays now allays fears of his health possible deteriorating once again.

Buhari had been away on a 10-working-day vacation. He was welcomed back home at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Abuja.

A delegation of top government officials and party supporters were present to welcome him back home.

There were earlier concerns about his decision to go on holiday at a time some of his senior party members were defecting to the opposition.

In his absence since August 3, Buhari’s vice, Yemi Osinbajo acted.

Buhari to work towards re-election

The recent defections from his ruling party appears to be threatening Buhari’s chances of retaining power in next year’s elections.

The main opposition People’s Democratic Party now has a majority in the Senate due to the defections.

Buhari and the APC have been accused by critics of failing to live up to promises made since winning the 2015 election.

The 75-year-old leader is struggling to deal with his country’s economic crisis as millions remain jobless.

He has also failed to contain ethnic clashes and the insurgency of militant group Boko Haram.
