Five people have been killed in a plane crash in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
On Friday a small passenger aircraft crashed in the southern part of the country near the border with Angola.
Local officials said the piston-engined Antonov 2, burst into flames, just after takeoff from Kamako.
Operated by local airline Air Kasai the aircraft was on flight to Tshikapa before the crash.
AFP quotes the deputy territorial administrator, Anacletus Muswa Kapinga Safia as saying that “The plane crashed into the bush three kilometres (two miles) from Kamako.”
“Only two people got out, the pilot and a passenger. They are unable to talk,”
“We already know that five people have died. We will know the final toll when the company provides us with the passenger list,” he added.
In June a plane working for the World Food Programme (WFP) also crashed shortly after takeoff at Kamonia.
