Officials in Senegal have confirmed the death of six people when a Senegalese military helicopter crashed late on Wednesday.
A government statement said 14 others also sustained injuries from the incident which happened in the south of the country.
An army spokesperson Colonel Abdou Ndiaye told AFP that the helicopter went down in a mangrove forest in the coastal area of Missirah.
The government said rescue workers were at the scene of the crash stating in a statement “The other 14 passengers were wounded, three seriously.”
The helicopter was reportedly carrying 20 people, including four crew.
The government said an enquiry has now been launched into the crash to determine its cause.
