The President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa has made a quick change to his cabinet by replacing two nominees for ministerial portfolios.
The changes were made after public outcry over the appointments two days after the announcements were made.
Those who have suffered from the reshuffle are the nominees for education and labour ministers.
On Saturday, the government said changes were being to the two portfolios to “ensure compliance with the constitution and considerations of gender, demography and special needs”.
Local media said the original list of appointees did not comply with a constitutional provision which limits the number of ministers who are not members of parliament.
President Mnangagwa took over from former President Robert Mugabe who resigned from his post after military takeover.
In Mr. Mnangagwa’s first cabinet list, senior military officers were given top ministerial positions, an action that was criticized by some Zimbabweans.
