Former African Union Commission chairperson, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma on Thursday was sworn in as a member of parliament from the South African ruling African National Congress.
The ex-wife of South African President, Jacob Zuma is an ANC presidential hopeful previously served as a Cabinet member.
She was sworn in according to local media behind closed doors along side North West politician Matthew Wolmarans, who was acquitted for masterminding the killing of Rustenburg councillor Moss Phakoe.
Ms Zuma spoke shortly after her swearing in to become an MP once again spoke to reporters and dismissed speculation that she might take up a cabinet position.
“It is going to be a lot of work, but I’m happy,” she said while talking to reporters describing her feeling as “interesting”.
“I don’t mind any committee, I will learn. Well, everything is my interest. So I will focus on what they say I must focus on.” The former AU commission chief added.

Dlamini-Zuma once served as health and foreign affairs minister and is expected to battle out the leadership of the ANC with current Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.
