Nigeria’s weekly cabinet meeting has been canceled by President Muhammadu Buhari, according to the country’s Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.
The cabinet meeting was supposed to take place on Wednesday as usual but Lai Mohammed said in a statement that the meeting would not take place “due to inadequate time to prepare the documents”.
The statement said the celebration of a two-day public holiday on Friday and Monday to mark the Islamic Eid-el-Kabir celebrations made it difficult for the cabinet to prepare adequately for the weekly meeting.
This is the second time Mr.. Buhari is canceling the meeting since returning from his sick leave last month. The 74-year-old president is currently working from his home due to rodent invasion in his office.
