Angolans are voting on Wednesday to elect Members of Parliament who will pick a new president in an election that many consider very significant.

The country’s long serving President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos is stepping down since coming into office in 1979.
He will hand over to a new president after the elections.

Voting centers have already opened in the oil-rich nation with about 9 million voters expected to vote.
Six parties are taking part in the electoral process, namely the ruling MPLA, main opposition UNITA, CASA-CE, FNLA, PRS and APN.

Any of the parties that wins the highest number of seats in the parliament of 200 seat will have its leader named president.
